Scientific Symposium on Trgovska Gora Held at ANURS
On 10 December 2025, the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska, in collaboration with the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Banja Luka, convened a scientific symposium dedicated to contemporary scientific and societal aspects of radioactive waste disposal on Trgovska Gora.
Professor Slobodanka Pavlović, Ph.D., from Slobomir P University, participated in the symposium, presenting her paper entitled:
“Trgovska Gora – Historical Background and Current Status of Site Selection for Radioactive Waste Storage.”
This academic gathering represents a continuation of the scholarly community’s engagement in opposing the establishment of a radioactive waste repository on Trgovska Gora and constitutes the second in a series of thematic scientific conferences.
The inaugural conference was held in Bihać on 21 November 2025, where Professor Pavlović contributed a paper titled:
“Biodiversity of Bosnia and Herzegovina with Emphasis on the Biodiversity of Trgovska Gora, and the Adverse Impact of Radioactive Waste on Biodiversity.”
The academic community’s participation in these conferences affirms its sustained scientific and social responsibility in protecting the environment, population, and biodiversity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
